E komo mai! Welcome to the Hawaiian Islands.

This page links you to the community homepages for Pacific Worlds sites in the Hawaiian Islands, and to a growing body of general background information on Hawaiian culture and geography. Currently, we invite you to explore our pilot website on Ha‘ena, Kaua‘i, a new website on Nu‘uanu, O‘ahu, and a community-produced site on Nawiliwili.

Pacific Worlds is currently preparing another website on Kawaihae, Hawai‘i. This project is in the initial stages of investigation, and is being done in conjunction with Kanu o ka ‘Aina Charter School in Kawaihae. We welcome participation in the research and development process by teachers and community members on other islands, as we aim to complete our Hawaiian Islands goal of one site for each major island.

We also recommend a site created by the Bishop Museum regarding the island of Kaho‘olawe. Community members are invited to recommend websites, material, and information to be included in Pacific Worlds. Please send all recommendations to the Director.
