1.  Other Comments

  • Great job! Timely.

2. How did you learn about this program (newspaper, organizational newsletter, radio, TV, from a friend, flyer, poster, etc.)?

[all respondents learned of it through the NHEA program schedule]

3.  For you, what were the most worthwhile parts or aspects of the program?

• Just learning about the project and the purpose for doing it

• Application and potential for medium in cultural projects

• Home site map – Template Website

• Site info, this is a valuable resource for students and teachers

• Like how the website looks, awesome imagination!

• Being able to have information at my fingertips

• Becoming aware of the Pacific Worlds web site and other online resources

• Knowledge of Hawai‘i for the rest of the world to see and learn

• Learning about the program and their goals

• The entire program

• Finding out what is being done in these areas; also issues/obstacle

• The possibilities

• Knowing that this website exists; Information contained in it and connection to other indigenous people

• How technology may be incorporated with cultural values, issues and goals

• The apparent use and available definitions and use of language in building the web site

• This website is awesome! It connects up to so many things

• the site way of Hawaiian helped to show the potential of information that can be organized for each place. Having a consistent structure will also help teachers to more easily use and have students use the overall site

• Exposing us to this very useful website

4.  What were the least worthwhile parts?

• Guam and Palau homepages still under construction

• When the audience does not allow the speaker to share he/she information 1st.

• I would like to see kahiko photos/images rather than modern or have both.

• Uninformed banter from audience

• None; not perfect but excellent beginning (stimulate) of future Hawaiian-initiated project

• Some of the discussion put presenters on the defensive, which wasted some presentation time. Thankfully another audience participant cut the discussion off. Presenters handled situation well

5. Please feel free to comment below on any aspect of the program. Thank you for your assistance.

• Mahalo

• I was praying for a website of this nature. Now that I see it exists, I will tell my ohana and students about it

• Excellent presentation

• Relative level of awareness of the general educator re• recapture of authentic native Hawaiian culture and language. The need to have research resources developed from the native Hawaiian perspective

• Indigenous geography is where Hawaiian’s education should develop. If we want Hawaiian uniqueness in this world to be known and appreciated and learned from.
