Pacific Worlds moving towards new web design in 2017

After 16 years, Pacific Worlds is upgrading to a new web design to accommodate pads, iPhones and new technology.

Originally written directly in html in 2000 using SimpleText, back when computer screens tended to be only 700 pixels wide, Pacific Worlds is long overdue for a new look. Thanks to a grant from the U.S. Forest Service Institute of Pacific Islands Forestry and web designer Michelle Fazenbacher, PW is on its way to a new design with an updated look and a responsive framework for adapting to different types of devices.

This upgrade is part of a larger initiative to expand the project into a larger format, with an increased focus on culture, conservation and climate change, as discussed here.

Currently, PW is seeking the funds to revamp the entire website, at an estimated cost of $20,000.
