As indigenous people are impacted by global tourism, they often employ various techniques in dealing with tourism's pressures. Subsequent strategies range from avoidance to engagement and this session will address these issues on local, regional and national levels. Papers will explore the paradoxes, issues and dilemmas confronting both indigenous people and the tourism industry.
