Bring your canoe to the landing place at Airai Village. Our guides tell the story of how the people of Airai came to reside there, and from where they came .

The Ancients
There are two waves of settlers to Palau. Today ancient terraces remain as traces of those earliest peoples.

Legendary Setting
The story of Milad speaks of the "new Palau," of the people who inhabit Palau today, and explains the origins of Palau's main villages.

Airai Village sits at the crossroads between the two main strongholds of Palau. This go-between position is an important part in understanding Airai Village's relationships to the rest of Palau.
